Panic Stations Classic event is being conducted at Hobart (YMHB) on Sunday, 15th January 2012, and as usual the winning pilot will be the one who can successfully land as close to, but after 1030UTC. Time sync is done at 0955 UTC using this source for standardization.
Over the years as Panic Stations has grown in popularity, so have the challenges of effeciently sequencing the large number of aircraft that take part. Over time good intentions have implemented systems and procedures that made the running of the event flawless. Unfortunately this has taken away the chaotic - seat of the pants controlling that "Panic Stations" was know for. To accomodate both styles we have Created two events Panics Stations Classic (Regular ATC) and Panic Stations Flow (Using the Flow Program, Extra ATC Positions, Airspace Splits and ATC Briefings).
So be prepared for the classic chaos that was Panic Stations and dont get too frustrated or dizzy in the holds!
